I am Elizabeth King! I am a reviewer, artist, and writer of adult fiction. My books are kink fantasy involving captive/captor narratives, bondage, sadomasochism and monsters. On this blog I review adult romance and kink oriented literature of all kinds and sexual orientations. I read a wide variety of kink lit, and run a book club on Discord for group reading and discussion of various kinds of kink lit! I cover everything from banned books, classic lit that explores sexuality, to cheesy pulpy romance and pure porn novels. As such this blog functions as an archive of adult content, so I highly recommend browsing through the books that I have read and review to find books that will suit your tastes, with links to where you can find them!

HOW I RATE BOOKS
These reviews are my personal thoughts and opinions on the novels I read, and will be entirely subjective to my own personal tastes. I judge a book based on four different points of interest:

WRITING – How well written the story is, how much the author is able to hook me as a reader. On the occasion that a book has illustrations, this is where I will briefly mention those as well.
EMOTIONAL ENGAGEMENT – How much I come to care about the characters, how invested I am in them on an emotional level.
WORLDBUILDING – How well crafted the world is, if the setting is unique and engaging, how the political landscape is built.
STEAMINESS – How hot I personally found the smut, or in the case of an absence of smut content, how the book approaches it’s power dynamics and/or fetish content.

I do not include a number/star rating system, because I prefer to give detailed explanations about my subjective opinions to boiling books down to a number. I also do not rate books based on criteria like formatting, punctuation and grammar. This is due to the fact that a lot of the books I review are independently published works, and I do not believe that it is fair play to hold an indie piece, (which are usually written, edited, formatted, released and promoted entirely by one person) to the standards of professionally published novels.

REQUESTING A REVIEW
I do take requests! If you have written a book that you would like me to review, I will be more than happy to read and review it. I do not charge a fee, all I ask is that you send me an e-copy of the book in question. If you are requesting a review of a book that you did not write, you can still make a request, though there is less guarantee that I will get to it if it doesn’t pique my interest.

On this blog I only review 18+ content. This means that for a title to be accepted for me to review it must include either erotic sexual and/or kink content. Kink content does not need to be sexual in nature (though it usually is) and I will also accept BDSM, guro, torture porn, slavefic and taboo relationship novels as well. But if the title would be fine to give to a child to read, it’s probably not the kind of thing I review here. I also only review multi-chapter novellas and full length novels. I find that one-shots and short smut stories typically do not have very much to talk about in a review, nor the depth that I’m looking for in my reading material.

Please be aware that I strive to always give honest and balanced reviews. I don’t believe in a work without any merit, and I don’t believe in a work being perfect and flawless. My reviews always try to mention both positive and negatives of every piece, and are representative of my own personal thoughts and opinions, nothing more or less.
